Crash Warn is a free smart phone app that sends an automatic SOS message to emergency contacts in the unfortunate event of a motor vehicle crash. In addition, it also has a speed alert feature to monitor speeding in teen drivers. When the driver crosses the set speed limit, he is notified by an audio warning tone.
In the teen driver mode, in addition to the audio notifications, if the speeding persists for more than 1-3 miles above the set speed limit, a speed alert text message and location is sent to the parent or guardian. The speed threshold and parameters can be personalized in the settings. The Home screen has a help alert button, which can be used to send a distress alert SMS message to emergency contacts. We have limited speeding alert text messages to 5 messages a day.
